With more than 210 million active users, Snapchat is a popular multimedia messaging app. And why not, there are many reasons to love; it’s simple, funny, fast, and effectively sharing moments.
But all that fun takes place on your iPhone, right? What about Mac? Here’s how to use Snapchat on your Mac.
Imagine checking your friends’ stories while you’re working without raising your phone. Or chat with them or share a Snap from the comfort of your Mac itself.
But how! The app is currently only available for mobile devices. While there is a rumor that a Snapchat app for Mac is in the works, we have a solution for you right now.
How to download and use the Snapchat app on Mac in 2020
The process is quite simple. However, this involves several steps. First, you’ll need to download an Android emulator. An emulator is a kind of app that lets you download and run all Android apps on your macOS.
My favorite choice for an emulator is BlueStacks App Player, a viral and effective platform. However, to download this emulator, you will first need to allow applications from other sources to be installed.
Allow applications from an unidentified developer in macOS
By default, your Mac only allows apps from the Mac App Store or identified developers. To download and install an Android emulator, you’ll need to change the settings slightly.
Step 1. Click on the Apple logo () and select System Preferences.
Step 2. Open security and privacy and go to the General tab.
Note: If the options are not available, click the lock icon at the bottom left of the page.
Enter the password to continue.
Step 3. Now see the two radio buttons under ‘Allow apps downloaded from’.
Step 4. Click on the App Store option and identified developers and leave the settings.
Now that you’ve authorized apps from unidentified developers, let’s finish the process and install Snapchat on your Mac. As mentioned above, I’ll use BlueStacks for the same thing.

Step 2. Once the download is complete, open the file to start the installation.
Step 3. Sign in with your Google ID to access Bluestack’s main page.
Step 4. Open the Play Store app.
Step 5. Type Snapchat into the search bar to find the app. And click Install.
Once this is done, the My Apps page in your Bluestacks app will have the Snapchat icon. Click on the app, enter your login information and voila! You can use Snapchat on Mac, just open

The best part, the app will work exactly as it did on your smartphone. In addition to viewing your friends’ shots, you can also share yours if you have a functional webcam on the device.
Plus, you can even save Snaps to Mac using screenshots or a screenshot, just like your mobile device.
